Sometimes, you just never know when you might run into your next client!
That is quite literally the case with the Lane projects.
One afternoon I was involved in a minor fender bender with an elderly couple. Of course we chit-chatted a bit about who we were and what we did, then we exchanged all of the necessary information. Both vehicles only needed minor repairs and the matter was settled, so I didn’t expect to hear from them again.
A few weeks later I got a call from a potential client. He told me that he had gotten my name from his parents – the elderly couple from the fender bender – and was interested in doing some minor remodeling on his home in order to sell it. As a licensed realtor as well as a licensed contractor, I was happy to help him with both!
After selling Eddie’s home, his brother, Andy, contacted me about a remodeling project, as well.
We tore down his existing glass-enclosed sitting area on the back of the house, and added a new great room in its place, completely remodeled the kitchen, added built in bookshelves to create a library space, replaced the central heating and air unit, and repainted the exterior and interior of the house.
It’s a little strange to hear someone say that they were glad to be involved in a traffic accident, even a minor one. Through that little fender bender, we met multiple members of a great family, and were able to help them with their remodeling projects.
